Nightwalker Series – talking its way to a nightstand near you
I was curious about this Nightwalker series. I must say that the covers intrigued me in their simplicity and straight-to-the-point advertisement that somewhere within the binding was some hotness. Of course, sometimes the packaging can just be a shiny wrapping to disguise the unpalatable fluff within.
I had never read any of Jacquelyn Frank’s work before, but I will say I am impressed. Obviously, the covers are merely a tantalizing glimpse of what you’ll find inside.

The Nightwalkers are a race of beings, co-existing alongside humans, devoted to protecting the world against the darkness of Necromancers. Necromancers in general are any practitioners of magic or sorcery, in particular dealing with the dark arts, communicating with the dead, and summoning of spirits. The story is action-packed, and the characters are easy to relate to, despite their alternative species status.
Interestingly enough, this world deals with the concept of Demons as human-like species that possess the powers of the natural elements. But not just the four we know, but 6 to include: Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Mind, and Body. There is also some Druid lore thrown in to round out the balance against the Necromancers. I am noticing a trend to include more Celtic-type lore in these paranormal genre romances. Which is just fine; it adds to the mystery and suspense.
Frank’s writing style is seriously hot. Smoking hot passionate scenes, and they are intense. Toss in the wild influence of the natural elements, and it’s definitely an intense read. The covers definitely deliver on their promise to take you on a wild ride with some hunky males (so what if they aren’t human), fraught with danger and suspense. I will definitely be checking out this series in full.
