I Will by Lisa Kleypas is a story about a bluestocking and a rogue who was in need of her help. So he makes her an offer she can’t refuse, and the story develops as one would expect into love from there. The novella was bundled up with the library’s holiday-themed romances, but there was only one scene that mentioned the Yuletide log and opening presents.

Regardless, it was a fun read that I was dismissive about in its ordinariness until the sneak chapter at the end, which was the prologue to another book. As I was reading it I was like, hey, these characters sound familiar… And they were! From my favorite Kleypas novel a Devil in Winter!

This is significant because I haven’t read one of her books in forever, and what are the chances that the one random novel I borrowed from the library would have any connection to a favorite book of hers that was written in 2009?? I know it has no bearing on the novellete, or the quality of the story, which was enjoyable and a clear example that Lisa’s writing has evolved over the last decade she has been writing.

Definitely a story worth reading. And the sneak prologue was for a Devil in Spring, which I guess is something of a sequel since the guy is the son of Sebastian from Devil in Winter.

I checked, and my library has a Devil in Winter. Guess what I will be waiting to read next, because apparently I am not the only one who thought the same thing… that’s right. The whole series, there’s 4 books in The Ravenels, and another that’s a crossover between The Ravenels and The Wallflowers. I can’t wait.
